What is MultiValue?

MultiValue (MV) databases allow the use of attributes having a list of values. SQL databases require all attributes have a single value. This makes MV databases more flexible as data changes such as adding attributes do not require rebuilding the database. MV databases often do not require DBA support for this reason. - Wikipedia Feb 2010

MultiValue data model vs Relational

MultiValue data is stored in a single table which is efficient, compact and faster and more intuitive.

Relational data requires several tables which consumes more memory, requires more disk I/O and is more difficult and time consuming to administer.
